![]() A lot of the "steath" objectives mean literally nothing in regards to loud path. There's also optional objectives/loot that can sometimes require civilians or keycards on guards on the map which you can potentially miss out on if they escape or get lost in the chaos in loud before you can tie them down/grab them through stealth.ĭepends on the checkpoint you were at. The negotiation phase also helps drag out that non-combat period a bit more when you do inevitably go loud, which having access to more civs to trade for time by unlocking areas in stealth can help with. Otherwise, heists do tend to have kind of "checkpoints" involving getting past doors and gates to areas further-in in stealth that you'd otherwise have to breach with thermite, drills or waiting for air-drops in loud, so you can contribute to loud progress by stealthing. Generally 3's heists are a lot more welcoming to a hybrid playstyle objective-wise (also mechanically since stealth is more forgiving in terms of fail state now), though the initial branch bank heist is the rare outlier in that it does essentially reset the heist if you can't get the vault open in stealth. Let's say I complete 3 objective stealthily and get caught, do I get an head start for the rest of the mission, or do I have to start over with the "loud" path ? Before that, your crew can take the much more complex and rewarding route of breaking into various parts of the bank to sabotage electrical systems and deactivate security measures to gain access to the vault without anyone being the wiser, which is essentially an entirely different mission if you can pull it off. For example, the Secure Capital Bank level normally requires players to go the humdrum path of using thermite to burn through the top of the bank vault then dive in from the floor above before making off with the loot, but this series of objectives smartly only triggers as your primary path once players have been caught. That’s also largely owing to the clever and fantastic way its missions are designed, in which stealth runs are now given a completely different route to success.
